Large retailers secure lower prices on consumer goods from suppliers because they buy huge amounts at once and those savings get passed on to shoppers. This bill would force suppliers to give small stores the same deal, but since the cost savings aren't actually there for small orders, prices would rise for everybody to make up the difference, meaning New Yorkers end up paying more at every grocery store. Rather than providing savings, it will result in higher prices at checkout for all New Yorkers.
